Headline: Call for study to eradicate poverty.

I am not gonna comment anything on this. Just wanna highlight something.

"Despite these, there is still a portion of the community who are less fortunate, poor, victims of accidents and disasters who are in need of help to continue with their daily lives....."

Is it wrong to call people poor? (Yes I know I am very pemajal).

Isn't less fortunate enough? Correct me if I am wrong, less fortunate is loosely translated as orang kurang bernasib baik. Is that not enough to tell that somebody is poor i.e. miskin? or must we really use the 'label', poor that has been socially constructed?
